Admission Procedures

Qualification for admission

Those who have academic knowledge of hepatology and approve of the objectives of the Japan Society of Hepatology (Articles of Association).

Membership fee
The annual membership fee is 12,000 yen, but admission is free. Upon admission, new members are asked to pay the membership fee for the year. The magazine “Kanzo” (Liver) will be sent to each member free of charge, but those who wish to receive the English journal “Hepatology Research” are required to pay an additional 18,000 yen per year.
Upon receiving an application for admission, the secretariat will send an application an annual fee payment form. Fill them in and return them to the secretariat. The annual membership fee needs to be remitted to the postal transfer account (00110-2-27560) of the Japan Society of Hepatology. Membership registration will be processed after the application is received and remittance of the annual membership fee is confirmed by the secretariat. The new member will then be notified of their membership number. The membership number will be required for most future activities, including various procedures, submission of academic papers, requests to give lectures during meetings (including co-lecturers), and making inquiries.
  • Membership will be automatically continued unless specified otherwise (termination, suspension).
  • Those wishing to continue membership are asked to pay the annual fee of 12,000 yen each year, or 30,000 yen if including subscription to the English journal.

English Journal "Hepatology Research"

Hepatology Research, an English journal, is available to society members for the annual subscription fee of 18,000 yen.

New Hepatology Research publisher

Since January 2007, Hepatology Research has been published by Wiley-Blackwell. To ensure smooth publication of the magazine, those wishing to contribute new articles are asked to use the on-line submission system of Wiley-Blackwell on/after September 2006. Subscription to the journal
Hepatology Research is distributed only to society members. Those wishing to subscribe to it need to become society members first before applying for subscription by sending a postcard or fax message to the office shown below. The latest issue will then be mailed to subscribers directly by Blackwell Publishing. No back numbers are available.
